Atiya Abu Khadra remains missing – The fight for justice and truth continues

The Palestinian from Gaza and father of four children arrived in Greece in July 2025 – and is missig ever since. His wife is relentlessly looking for him.

Atiya Abu Khadra, a Palestinian national, fled the war in Gaza in search of safety.

He decided to go to Greece from Türkiye, like many others whose circumstances have become unbearable.
He arrived on the Greek island of Symi on 23/7/2025 at 12 noon, but the group got separated. He was extremely exhausted, sat down to rest, contacted his wife, sent his location, and called the emergency number 112 three times asking for help.

When the group reached the police station, they reported him.

Another group arrived two hours after the first group reached the island. A relative of Atiya was on this boat and informed the Coast Guard (which detained this group and then pushed them illegally back to Turkey) about Atiya’s location, and they even saw the location on his phone.

Despite all of this, Atiya remains missing.
We searched for him extensively, but until now there has been no news.
We followed all legal procedures, but without any success.

Atiya is the father of four children who desperately need him.

We hope he is safe and returns to his family, who has been left alone without support.“

Since 24. July 2025 Alarm Phone has been giving company and support to the wife of Atiya Abu Khadra in her relentless search for her husband. Without any sucess so far.

To the contrary: There are more and more obstacles in the search for the missing Atiya Abu Khadra because of the violent border regime of the EU.
In the moment of a big loss and an uncertain situation relatives are mainly left alone by state institutions in their search for the missing.
That is why we as Alarm Phone try to connect the relatives of Atiya Abu Khadra to support structures and local solidarity groups to find out more and also support them to navigate through all these bureaucratic challenges.

If you have any hint about the remain of Atiya Abu Khadra or want to support in a financial way to support the family of the missing please reach out to aegean(att)alarmphone or directly to the wife of the missing: ahlamshaat24(att)gmail.com
