The engine is broken. The whatsapp conversation published here gives impressive insights into Alarmphone’s valuable work and shows clearly the reprehensibility of the European border policies which bring refugees in such dangerous and all too often deadly situations.”

🆘 in the Central Med! We were alerted to a group of 47 people who fled from #Sfax #Tunisia and who shipwrecked early this morning. The people went overboard and are in the water, in immediate danger of drowning. Authorities are informed, rescue is urgently needed!!

🆘 45 people calling for help after their boat shipwrecked off #Rhodes! The survivors are in a church, some of them badly injured. They report that 2 people died whose bodies are still at the beach. They need immediate help & the bodies of the dead to be recovered.

🆘 Deportation to #Tunisia in the making!
41 people who fled Libya were intercepted by the supply ship MARDIVE 208 in the Maltese search + rescue zone. Authorities now are planning to hand them over to Tunisia which is not a safe country for refugees. This deportation is illegal!
