🔴Breaking: This afternoon, the crew of our search and rescue ship Humanity 1, rescued 65 people in distress at sea. The survivors, including more than 10 minors & 4 women, had set out from Libya three days ago & had since been left exposed to the open sea & scorching heat. 1/3
From 4-8 August, up to 100 participants of the World Social Forum, incl. Alarm Phone, met in the migration village in #Cotonou. Composed mainly of activists from all over Africa, its transnational assembly published a manifesto for freedom of movement.

2/3 L’autre bateau était parti avec 30 personnes à bord. Repéré par un navire marchand qui a alerté les garde-côtes, le bateau a été retrouvé avec 12 survivants et 2 corps, 16 personnes sont toujours portées disparues. D’après les survivants, un bébé fait partie des disparus.
