« Celle-ci ne sauve pas de vie. Frontex ne fait que du contrôle et terrorise les migrants », lance Hatem Gheribi de Watch the Med. Il cite les chiffres de « 19.000 migrants secourus par des cargos en Méditerranée entre novembre 2014 et avril 2015 contre seulement 1.700 par les bateaux de Frontex ». Le collectif dénonce « une Europe forteresse » et certaines associations comme le NPA ou Watch The Med demandent « la liberté de circulation et d’installation des populations ».

Today, we marked the 7th year since the arrival & arrest of the #ElHiblu3 in Malta. Over 7 hours, we marked the 7 years that the #ElHiblu3 have been criminalised, 7 years that have been stolen from them.

We demand again that the charges be dropped & that our friends be freed!

🆘 ~56 people missing in the Central Med!

We have been informed by relatives that 56 people who left #Sfax in #Tunisia this morning are at severe risk at sea because of bad weather. We urge authorities to search for the boat and rescue them to a safe place!

Devastating loss of life near #Crete: at least 22 people who left #Libya died on their way towards #Europe. They were over 6 days at sea - adrift, without food or water. Only 26 people survived. We mourn their death – and send strength & solidarity to the survivors & relatives!
