« Celle-ci ne sauve pas de vie. Frontex ne fait que du contrôle et terrorise les migrants », lance Hatem Gheribi de Watch the Med. Il cite les chiffres de « 19.000 migrants secourus par des cargos en Méditerranée entre novembre 2014 et avril 2015 contre seulement 1.700 par les bateaux de Frontex ». Le collectif dénonce « une Europe forteresse » et certaines associations comme le NPA ou Watch The Med demandent « la liberté de circulation et d’installation des populations ».

🆘 35 people in distress in the Central Med! We were called by people on a boat in the #Maltese search and rescue zone. There are children on board. The group reports that water is entering the boat and they seem to be adrift. Authorities are informed. Rescue is needed!

🆘 52 people in grave distress!

We informed authorities in #Italy and #Malta about a boat in severe weather conditions in the Central Mediterranean. Extreme wind makes it impossible to communicate with them, so we do not know their position. They are repeatedly calling for help!

🆘 26 people in distress in the Central Med: We are in contact with a boat in the #Maltese search and rescue zone. The people report water is entering their boat. They urgently need rescue and, at the same time, fear an interception to #Libya. Rescue now, no interception!
