A year ago, 8 people were murdered in an illegal #pushback operation by @HCoastGuard. The group first arrived on the island of #Inousses on July 8th. A day later, they were found in life rafts in front of the #Turkish island of Kara Ada.

⚫️ 7 people lost their lives & 1 person is missing after another #pushback in the #Aegean.

#Turkish authorities told us they found a group which matches this one on Kara Ada island today, relatives confirmed this. They had been in life rafts which crashed on the rocks.

🆘 Boat adrift in the central #Mediterranean!
We are in contact with a group of ~50 people, incl. 6 children, in distress who fled #Libya. They've been drifting for hours in strong wind & waves and report water entering the boat.
Authorities are informed, please act immediately!

🆘 One person missing in the central #Mediterranean

37 people, who fled from #Tobruk in #Libya, contacted us when in distress at sea. They were adrift in the Egyptian SAR zone. Eventually, a merchant vessel rescued them. However, one person went overboard. 1/
